Nyali International Beach Hotel & Spar has finally resumed its operations after weeks of renovations.
The Mombasa based five star hotel now hopes to use its revamped facilities and services ranging from Spa to Wellness Center to retain its former glory in Mombasa’s hotel and tourism industry.
The hotel has since been under renovations a head of the high tourists’ season expected soon, according to its General Manager, Lucy Kimani.
The hotel owned by Mombasa tycoon Ali Punjani has been renovated at a cost of kshs.100 million.
However, the hotel management will be capitalizing on the newly launched Standard Gauge Railway SGR to increase its business and earnings as many visitors’ particularly local tourists begin to trim in Mombasa using the revamped rail transport system-SGR.
Speaking over the weekend, the hotel’s General Manager welcomed the lSGR launch done recently lby President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying more visitors both local and international are expected to come to Mombasa through rail transport system.
“As Nyali International Beach Hotel, we are happy with the launch of SGR, and we are also optimistic that many tourists will be coming to Mombasa soon through SGR and this is absolutely positive sign of growth particularly in our struggling hotel industry” said Lucy Kimani.
The hotel expects an increase of between 50-80 percent of visitors as a result of the SGR, according to the General Manager.
Meanwhile, the hotel management has denied allegations of any takeover saying the facility was still intact and operational under its current owner, Ali Punjab.
Resident manager Peter Kiarie however confirmed that there have been changes in the hotel’s security services provider following a contractual dispute which has already been settled.
